War God
sunrise bleeds over smoking fields
holds men rapt, their eyes toward god
bombs explode, buildings heave
lives in rubble, their prayers for god
children cry and parents grieve
dogs sniff corpses, their hearts with god
hate consumes the fragile peace
power greedy, their souls shun god
day breaks faith, land in siege
humans suffer, their reason god
