Thawra

be lucid in the night & think it as

smear of honey on fresh bread/ so

soon the slamming of fajr’s window/

so soon those who accuse the

sufferers of not calling upon God

turn away as light shines

on the darkened forehead/ so be still the

tongue/ be biting the flesh/ do not

find romantic the resistance of

youth/ do not find romantic

the chanting child in the street/ be

with God as The Call from throat to

ear &

paint the sky

blue
