Jesus at the Border

Remember the time Jesus said,

“Sorry, can’t help you,

my taxes might go up,”

or the time he turned away

a busload of the hungry,

the houseless,

the persecuted,

holding up a sign that proclaimed

NOT IN MY TOWN,

or the time he refused to free the child

snagged in the razor wire?

Neither do I,

thank God.
