A Revision to the Healthcare Standard
we have revised
the “sliding scale”
for healthcare fees
to help offset
some of the costs
of administration.
For example,
take this patient here,
a former auto worker, retired.
His chemotherapy
cost him an eye,
which was transplanted
into the Assistant Head
of Accounting
at a Fortune 500 firm.
A more productive
member of society, indeed.
Robert Beveridge (he/him) makes noise (xterminal.bandcamp.com) and writes poetry on unceded Mingo land (Akron, OH). He published his first poem in a non-vanity/non-school publication in November 1988, and it’s been all downhill since. Recent/upcoming appearances in Chiron Review, Al Dente, and Coin-Operated Press‘ Hallozine, among others.
