Kimberly Swendson | [ Voices Are Rolling Over the Mountain ]

[ Voices Are Rolling Over the Mountain ]

And I am myself receding and
you are yourself
only in this instance

Call it all an occasion
to be direct.
A hand gripping the back of my neck,
a loaded and cocked gesture
genuflecting again and again
with glacial precision

This is the mirroring
effect. A throaty experience. Sounding how
he wants

My hand
has always been the one
missing
